Crime branch police on Friday arrested an externed hardcore criminal who kidnapped and severely beat a youth after detaining him on the terrace.

The arrested criminal has been identified as Pawan Ishwarlal Jaiswal (Shivajinagar). DCP, Dr Rahul Khade last year externed Pawan from city limits for two years. Still, he was wandering openly in the city. On October 5, Pawan kidnapped complainant Rishikesh Bhanudas Renyeole in a car and detained him on the terrace. Pawan beat Rishikesh on the terrace severely. A case was registered against Pawan Jaiswal, Suraj Khatane and Youraj Chavan at the Pundliknagar police station. However, Pawan was at large since then.

Meanwhile, the police received the information that his is at the Garkheda area. Accordingly, PSI Yogesh Ghonde, havaldar Syed Mujeeb Ali, Gajajnan Mante, Sunil More, Rahul Kharat, Bhavsingh Chavan and Nitin Deshmukh arrested Pawan on Friday. The police have registered a case of breaching banishing orders against him.
