Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Thirty-five tourism representatives from across the country arrived on Sunday for a two-day ‘Familiarisation Tour’ to explore and promote the city’s tourism potential. With globally recognised sites such as Ajanta and Ellora caves, Deogiri fort, Grishneshwar temple, and Bibi Ka Maqbara, the visit aims to present these destinations in a modern and innovative way.
Deputy director of tourism Vijay Jadhav welcomed the delegates, who will hold discussions on tourism challenges, infrastructure, policies, culture, heritage, architecture, tour operations, hotel industry, guides, and travel businesses. On Monday, they will visit key tourist sites in and around the city, followed by a visit to Ajanta caves on Tuesday and interactions with local tour operators and guide associations. The initiative is being conducted under principal secretary Sanjay Khandare and director Dr B.N. Patil, with support from assistant tourism officers Ajimoddin Sheikh and Shoaib Shah, tourism assistant Dr Shivaji Gaikwad, and Vikrant Mhatre.

The delegates will assess tourism infrastructure, hotel capacity, and guide systems, and share their experiences in their respective states, helping promote the city as a travel destination.
