Farmer’s house burgled in Pandharpur
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
A farmer, who had gone to his village for the last rites of his relative, became a victim of theft when burglars broke into his house and stole goods worth Rs 61,700. The incident came to light at around 5 am on Tuesday (March 11) in Salampurenagar in Pandharpur.
The farmer Janardhan Lakshman More (64) had locked his house at around 8.30 am on Saturday (March 8) and went to Nipani Namgaon (tehsil Nevasa), for the last rites of his relative. On March 11 early morning, his neighbour, Vijaymala Shelke telephoned and informed him that the lock on his house door was broken and the lights were also off. Hence More immediately rushed back to his home and found that the house was in disarray. The gold and silver items from the house were missing. The stolen items included gold ornaments and silver items, all valuing Rs 61,700. A case has been filed against unknown thieves at the MIDC Waluj police station. Further investigation is on by PSI Ganesh Giri.
