Father-son booked in youth’s suicide case

A case against a father and son in connection with the alleged abetment of suicide of a youth from Bapunagar in Khokadpura at the Kranti Chowk police station recently.

The accused have been identified as Ajay Pakhare and his father Sanjay Pakhare, residents of Bhavsingpura. According to police, Amol Vijay Shinde died by suicide at his residence on Saturday (May 2). In this regard, the deceased’s brother, Vivek Shinde, lodged a complaint at Kranti Chowk police station on May 9. As per the complaint, the accused had allegedly taken Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh from Amol on the pretext of arranging a loan. However, when the loan was not sanctioned and Amol demanded the return of his money, the accused allegedly failed to repay the amount. The mental harassment arising from this financial dispute reportedly drove Amol to take the extreme step. Police have registered an offence and further investigation is underway.
