Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A fire allegedly set to garbage in the Waluj MIDC area caused significant damage to a neighbouring company recently. A case has been registered against a worker in connection with the incident.

According to the complaint filed by Shyamal Mahendra Rajput (31, resident of Kanchanwadi, Paithan Road), a case has been registered at MIDC Waluj Police Station against Namdev Balaji Dadekar, a worker at Magar Engineering (K-180, MIDC Waluj). On the morning of April 9, the complainant received a call from a company worker, Premchand Yadav, informing him about a fire outside the premises. He rushed to the spot, where workers had already managed to control the fire using water from storage tanks.

During the inquiry, it was revealed that the accused had allegedly set fire to garbage in the premises of Magar Engineering. The flames soon spread to the neighbouring Venus Industries (K-181), resulting in damage to a 4-gauge main electric cable and causing losses less than Rs 1.25 lakh. Further investigation is underway by police.
