Free cataract surgery camp in memory of Ln M K Aggarwal

Aurangabad, Feb 23: Lions Eye Hospital, N-1 Cidco recently underwent expansion and renovation with the help of grant from Lions Club International Foundation and Aruna Abhay Oswal Trust. More than 800 cataracts, Glaucoma and Retinopathy surgeries are being performed every month in this total eye care centre, in which about 65 percent are done free of cost and the remaining at concessional rates.

The birth anniversary of Lion MK Agrawal, Past district Governor of District 3234 H2 from Chikalthana Lions Club of Aurangabad, was on February 23 while his first death anniversary falls on February 28.

M K Aggarwal as the Lions Eye Hospital Trust secretary and district governor contributed immensely in the continuous growth and progress of the hospital. His son Ritesh Agarwal and family expressed a desire to sponsor the week for cataract surgeries from February 23 to 28 every year and respecting the family's desire, Lions Eye Hospital and Lions Club of Aurangabad Chikalthana, in a tribute to Lion M K Agarwal announced free cataract surgery of needy patients from February 23 to 28. A special feco ward has been named after Aggarwal.

District Governor MJF Lion Vivek Abhyankar, District 3234 H2 inaugurated the free surgery drive. Today, 30 patients were checked and 16 surgeries were performed. Around 100 surgeries will be performed in the camp, said Lions Club Chikalthana president Ln Sanjeev Gupta,

secretary Ln Vinod Chaudhary and treasurer Ln Rajesh Shukla.
