Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI, Aurangabad Circle) has organised various programmes to celebrate World Heritage Day (April 18).
Free entry
There are 75 monuments in the jurisdiction of the circle. It includes five ticketed monuments in the district - world heritage Ajanta Caves, world heritage Ellora Caves, iconic Bibi ka Maqbara, Daulatabad Fort, and Aurangabad Caves. The entry at these ticketed monuments will be free for the visitors and the tourists on April 18 (Friday), said the ASI official.
3-day exhibition
The ASI will also be putting up a photo exhibition at Daulatabad Fort. The exhibition will display photographs of all 75 monuments (ticketed and non-ticketed) in the jurisdiction of the circle. The exhibition is being put on to project unique cultural diversification as the monuments belonging to diverse cultures and regimes hail in the region and feel pride about it and the role of ASI in preserving them, said the ASI sources.
The exhibition will be open for visitors from 10 am to 6 pm and conclude on April 20.
Under the guidance of the superintending archaeologist (Aurangabad circle) Shiv Kumar Bhagat, the assistant superintending archaeologist Prasant Sonone and team are taking efforts to organise the event successfully.
