Funds of Rs 128 crore demanded under SDRF

Aurangabad, July 14:

The district administration kept aside various development works fearing third wave of Covid-19. The administration has also demanded an additional funds of Rs 128 crore under the state disaster response funds.

The district planning committee has approved a plan of Rs 365 crore till March 31, 2022. Of this, 33 per cent or Rs 120 crore is for corona prevention measures, Rs 56 crore for health services and Rs 53 crore for other works. Administrative approvals of Rs 20 crore were made last week. These includes oxygen plants and ventilators. Nearly 1,852 people were employed during the first and second wave of covid. They receive an extension every three months. The administration will also have to spend on their salaries. The funds will also have to be spent on the infrastructure till the covid wave recedes. Hence the administration has not allocated any funds for development works.
