Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Two friends allegedly fled with a car after taking its keys on the pretext of sitting inside to enjoy the air conditioning due to the heat.

The accused have been identified as Saurabh Ramesh Kute (25, Tukainagar, Pune) and Mehboob Shaikh ( Chakan, Khed). A case was registered against them at Daulatabad Police Station.

According to details, the complainant Dnyaneshwar Babasaheb Rahatwad (Bajajnagar) runs a finance agency.

The accused Saurabh and Mehboob called him for a meeting on April 28. After meeting at his office in Bajajnagar, they went to the Karodi area for lunch. While the meal was in progress, Mehboob took the car keys, saying he wanted to sit in the AC due to the heat. Trusting him, Rahatwad handed over the keys.

After finishing lunch, when Rahatwad and Saurabh came out of the hotel, they found the car missing. Mahebub did not respond to any calls. The complaint also states that Saurabh switched off his mobile phone and absconded. Police Sub-Inspector Vasant Shelke is investigating the case.
