Aurangabad, July 23:

A group of youths from Amalner saved the life of a city youth, who had arrived at old Kaigaon village to commit suicide by jumping into the Godavari river, on Thursday night. The ill-fated youth was counseled and then sent home safely with the help of the police.

It so happened that Amalner's Raju Pathan, Shivaji Misal, Radheshyam Kolhe, and Rajesh Misal were returning in the car after finishing their private work in Newasa. The group spotted suspicious movement of a youth on the new bridge built upon Godavari river at old Kaigaon on Thursday at 12.30 am. The village is located on Aurangabad-Ahmednagar National Highway. They immediately rushed towards him. The youth was very tensed and informed them to mind their business as he has come to end his life. The Amalner's youths spoke and counseled him and tried their best to change his mind from ending the life. During the conversation, the youth informed that he stays in the vicinity of Baba Petrol Pump in Aurangabad. Later on, the youths from Amalner informed the PSI (of old Kaigaon police chowky), Vilas Ghusinge and with the help of police, the youth was then sent home safely by arranging a vehicle at 1 am.
