GP members meet MLC Danve for resolving overhead water tank issue

Aurangabad, May 18:

The Gram Panchayat office bearers of Waluj met MLC Ambadas Danve and reached out to him to find a solution to the overhead water tank issue. The construction has been pending due to a land dispute between the GP and police administration.

The work of this water tank is stalled as the dispute over the location of the water tank is not resolved and the citizens are facing severe water shortage. In order to solve the water problem in the village, the Waluj GP had decided to build a water tank near the GP office two years ago by spending around Rs 50 lakh. The work of the overhead water tank was started. However, Waluj station PI Sandeep Gurme had stopped the work alleging that the work was coming within the limits of the police colony. The land records office has also surveyed the land to settle the land dispute after the work on the water tank was stopped. The Gangapur land records office has reported that the work on the water tank is within the Gram Panchayat limits. However, the police administration has rejected the report. Later the Jalna land records office had surveyed the land. However, the report has not been received by the GP yet. Meanwhile, Gangapur tehsildar Sarika Shinde had last week tried to mediate a joint meeting of GP office bearers and PI Gurme to resolve the dispute amicably. However, the meeting did not yield any result. Hence deputy sarpanch Yogesh Argade, former Sarpanch Manoj Jaiswal, Sarjerao Bhond, Nandkumar Raut and others met MLC Danve and discussed the matter in detail. Danve assured that the issue will be resolved after discussing with district collector Sunil Chavan.
