Health check-ups detect ailments in sanitary workers

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The health checkup camp for the sanitary employees of outsourced self-help groups (SHGs) working in the municipal corporation and the employees of the Malaria Department was organised, at various primary health centres (PHCs), on Wednesday. A total of 390 workers were examined throughout the day.

Following the instructions of Medical Officer of Health (MoH) Dr Paras Mandlecha, the checkups were carried out at PHCs in Jawahar Colony, Chetananagar, Mukundwadi, Shivajinagar, Cidco N-8 Hospital, Bansilalnagar, and Kranti Chowk. Among the participants, there were 258 male and 132 female employees. All were issued Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) cards during the camp.

Out of the 390 employees examined, 15 were found to have high blood pressure, 5 had thyroid issues, and 7 were diagnosed with diabetes. These individuals have been referred to physicians for further treatment.
