Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The municipal corporation had demolished six shops, a house, and an office belonging to MIM corporator Matin Majid Shaikh (Patel), along with a house in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar where Nida Khan, an accused in the TCS company case in Nashik, was allegedly given shelter, citing the properties as unauthorised constructions on May 13. The next hearing on the petitions filed by corporator Matin Patel and Hanif Khan Yusuf Khan and others, challenging the demolition notices issued for these properties, has been scheduled for June 15.

The three petitions came up for hearing on Monday before the bench of Justice Siddheshwar Thombre. Advocate Sambhaji Tope appeared on behalf of the municipal corporation, while Adv Abhaysingh Bhosale and Adv Priyanka Shinde, representing Adv Krishna Rodge, argued for the petitioners.

Through these petitions, Matin Patel and Hanif Khan had challenged the notices issued by the municipal corporation on May 9 2026 regarding the eviction and demolition of their properties. Meanwhile, as the municipal corporation demolished the properties on May 13, Adv Shinde, appearing for the petitioners, expressed readiness to amend the petitions accordingly.

The bench permitted amendments to the petitions and scheduled the next hearing for June 15. During the hearing, Santosh Wahule, coordinating officer of the municipal corporation’s anti-encroachment section, was present in court.
