Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has recorded the highest number of copy cases in the HSC examination in the State in February-March 2025 examination so far.

The State Board said that the tight vigil on the centres had resulted in detecting more and more copycats in the division. A total of 125 candidates were caught in the five districts until Thursday.

It may be noted the State Board started conducting the Higher Secondary School examination at nine divisions on February 11 while the XII students will take their last paper on March 18.

More than 1.85 lakh students from 1,408 schools and junior colleges across Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Hingoli, and Parbhani districts are appearing for the exams at 460 centres under the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division.

Authorities continue to monitor examination centres closely to curb malpractice and ensure a fair examination process. More than 170 students were caught in the State. Of them, 127 are in the five districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Chairman of the State Board Sharad Gosavai said that the highest number of copy cases was reported from 18 centres of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division in the State.

The officers reiterated that if any cheating or any other improper conduct is found during the 12th Board and 10th Board examinations in the entire district, strict action would be taken against them immediately and the centre recognition of the college concerned will be cancelled permanently.

Divisional chairman Anil Sable said that the flying squads from the different departments visited the examination centres in the division and were keeping watch. He said that 18 students were caught while indulging in malpractice during the examination on Thursday while 107 cases were reported until February 18. With today’s cases, the number of copycats reached 125 in the five districts. The officers that the copy cases are surfacing due to strict vigil of the flying and sitting squads of different departments.

1 dummy candidate caught

A flying squad of the Secondary Education Department of Zilla Parishad visited the examination centre (no. 0058) at Hari Om Junior College (Turkabad Kharadi) on Saturday and caught a dummy candidate while taking the paper ‘Organisation of Commerce and Management’ subject of the Commerce stream on February 15.
