Aurangabad, April 3:

Hundreds of Ph D aspirants have been waiting to submit their research proposals within the jurisdiction of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU).

It may be noted that the university conducted Ph D Entrance Test (PET) between January 1 and March 17 for the admissions.

In the first phase, two papers of the test were conducted and the result was declared. The registration process, research proposal (synopsis) and documents submissions will be held in the second phase.

More than 4,000 candidates were declared eligible for the second phase. The registration process for the second was to begin on March 22

After that, the research proposals before Research and Recognition Committee (RRC) were to begin.

However, thousands of researchers have been waiting since March 22 for the second phase registration.

Bamu officers told this newspaper that the process was put on hold because of the rising number of patients within the university’s jurisdiction.

“Hundreds of researchers will throng the Bamu campus to give a presentation and this may pose a threat to their health. Hence, the registration has not been started yet. Also, candidates may face a problem of transportation and halt. It will commence once the patients' number come down in Aurangabad division,” they added.
