IGBC hosts Green Marathwada Conclave 2026, highlights sustainable growth roadmap

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), under the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), organised the Green Marathwada Conclave 2026, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and sustainability experts to discuss “Marathwada 2030: A Pathway to Greener Growth & Resource-Efficient Development.”

Minister of renewable energy, Atul Save said Maharashtra is emerging as a frontrunner in sustainable development, stressing the need to scale renewable energy, water efficiency and low-carbon infrastructure. The conclave was also addressed by Natasha Zarine, Navin Bagadiya and Hares Siddiqui.

Maharashtra leads with 4,208 IGBC-registered projects, while Marathwada has 121 projects, reflecting growing green adoption in the region.

A panel discussion on “Shaping Marathwada’s Net Zero Future Together” featured moderator Hares Siddiqui and speakers IIID, Chairman ,Laxmikant Surve; CMIA president Utsav Machhar; ISHRAE Chairman, Amit Patil; CREDAI chairman, Sangram Patare and IIA CSN chairman Ar Shyam Shelar, who discussed renewable energy integration, sustainable building practices and policy support to achieve net-zero goals.

Experts also highlighted the rising economic cost of delaying green adoption, particularly in logistics, reinforcing the need for sustainable, future-ready infrastructure.
