Aurangabad, Feb 8:

Shakuntala Lalchand Kasure has been elected as the Sarpanch of the Teesgaon Grampanchayat while Nagesh Kuthare as the deputy Sarpanch.

Former ZP member, Ramchandra Kasure maintained his supremacy at the Grampanchayat on the second consecutive tenure by clinching 10 out of 17 seats. The Sarpanch post was reserved for OBC woman candidate.

A special meeting for the election of the Sarpanch was held at the Grampanchayat on Monday. Kasure and Renuka Salampure were the contestants for the post of Sarpanch while Nagesh Kuthare and Nitin Jadhav for the post of deputy Sarpanch. Kasure secured 10 votes while Salampure 7. Similarly Kuthare clinched 11 votes and Jadhav 6.

Grampanchayat members Rajesh Kasure, Ashwini Jadhav, Krishna Gaikwad, Aruna Jadhav, Shakuntala Kasure, Sanjay Jadhav, Pradeep Hande, Nirmala Butte, Nagesh Kuthare, Ganesh Birangal, Puja Tarrayawale, Renuka Salampure, Godavari Kolhe, Nitin Jadhav, Rekha Suryawanshi, Vishnu Jadhav, Sangeeta Ambhore and others were present. The election officer was Hanuman Shinde and the assistant was A R Gaikwad.
