Democracy cannot survive without lawyers, who must guide society rather than mislead it, said Justice Kishor Sant of the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court.

A national moot court competition was held on February 14 and 15 at Manikchand Pahade Law College, with 21 law colleges participating. The final round took place at Tapadiya Natya Mandir and was evaluated by Justice Kishor Sant and Justice Ajit Kadethankar of the Kolhapur circuit bench. The prize distribution was presided over by adv. Kalpalata Patil-Bharswadkar, chairperson of the Marathwada Legal and General Education Society, in the presence of adv Rajendra Deshmukh, adv D.S. Kulkarni, adv J.K. Vasdikar, adv S.V. Adwant, adv Sudhir Patil, Adv. B.A. Dengale, adv Arvind Deshmukh, S.D. Kulkarni, and adv Avinash Deshmukh. Teams from KLE Law College, Bengaluru; School of Legal Studies and Research, MGM University; and Manikchand Pahade Law College competed in the final. Yash Gawde was felicitated for preparing the fictional case material. The host team from Manikchand Pahade Law College won the competition, receiving Rs 7,000 and the Late adv Sudhakarrao Deshmukh Trophy, while MGM University secured runner-up with Rs 5,000 and the same trophy. Vaishnavi Bhale was awarded Best Advocate across all rounds and Best Petitioner, receiving trophies and Rs 2,000. Dhanshri Rengunthewar won Best Respondent (Rs 2,000), Vidhi Kochar received Best Advocate in the preliminary round, and Vaishnavi Bhale also won Best Memorial Draft in the final.
