Aurangabad, Jan 31:

From Sankranti to Rath Saptami, it is customary to gift an item to friends and family. However, the Maitri group organised a health check-up camp for women doing household work and guided them on health awareness.

The event was recently held in the N-2 area. Free health check-ups were conducted mainly for housewives. Speaking on the occasion, organizers of the event Yogita Satpute and Sudha Pai, said that women who earn their living through household work have many health issues. But due to lack of money or other difficulties, these women never get their health checked on their own. That is why this initiative was implemented especially for such women along with the members of the Maitri group. Blood tests of every woman were done in collaboration with Gajanan Joshi. Dr Prachi Chavan and Dr S Anand personally guided the women on how to take care of health and diet. Jyoti Yadav, Vijaya Dharurkar, Mridul Kulkarni, Archana Kulkarni, Rekha Jakhete took efforts. Alka Mohekar, Sunita Bhilwade, Deepa Manke, Swati Bonde were present. The program concluded with an oath to protect the environment.
