The first festival of the new year, Makar Sankranti was celebrated by women with great enthusiasm in the city.

Since morning, a large crowd of women was seen in various temples in the city to offer Sankranti gifts. All the temples including Vitthal Temple at Dhavni Mohalla, Renuka Devi Temple at N-9, Omkareshwar Temple at Garkheda and other temples were crowded with women. Women were wearing masks and using sanitisers to protect themselves from the corona. Compared to other festivals, the festival was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. The women expressed satisfaction and wished that the Covid crisis would be completely averted in the new year.
