Aurangabad, April 7:

The Crime Branch police have arrested a man who dodged a motorcyclist youth and snatched his mobile phone. The police have seized the stolen phone amounting Rs 15,000 from him. The arrested has been identified as Umesh Mahesh Gavali (19, Mukundwadi).

According to the details, Akhilesh Ramdas Kharat, a resident of the Gulmohar Colony, Cidco was returning home from his friend’s birthday party on his motorcycle on February 20 night. Another motorcyclist dodged Akhilesh’s motorcycle and he fell from the motorcycle. The accused, on the pretext to him help asked him to call his family members and tell them about the accident. When Akhilesh was calling on his mobile phone, the accused snatched his phone and fled away. A case in this regard was registered at the Cidco police station. Under the guidance of crime branch PI, Avinash Aghav, the police team including constable Shivaji Zine, Rajendra Salunke, Vitthal Sure, Prabhakar Raut and Nitin Deshmukh investigated the matter and arrested Umesh Gawali and seized the phone.
