Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Members of the Maratha community staged a protest at Kranti Chowk on April 27 morning by hitting the effigy of Bageshwar Baba, also known as Dhirendra Shastri, with footwear and smearing it with dung. The agitation was organised in response to his alleged objectionable remarks about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

During a programme held in Nagpur, Dhirendra Shastri reportedly made controversial statements linking Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with Samarth Ramdas Swami, which sparked widespread anger.

On Monday morning, the Sakal Maratha Samaj carried out a strong protest at Kranti Chowk, raising slogans against Bageshwar Baba. Protesters warned that they would disrupt his future programmes and blacken his face wherever he appears.

Those present at the protest included Ravindra Kale Patil, Nitin Kadam, Dnyaneshwar Kanake and many other supporters of Shivaji Maharaj.
