Aurangabad, Nov 30:
The administration has taken all safety measures at the booths, taking into view the Novel coronavirus situation for Marathwada Graduates Constituency elections to be held from 8 am to 5 pm, on Tuesday (December 1).
Nearly 6,000 officers and employees at 813 polling booths will be on their toes in eight districts of Marathwada region. Around 3.74 lakh voters will exercise their franchise tomorrow.
The administration has made available 5,000 bottles (1 litre each) , 1.50 lakh masks, 8,000 gloves, 9,200 face shields, 9,200 sanitiser bottles (50 ml), 2200 soaps, 1300 bio-waste bags, 17,900 disposal cups, 330 pulse oximeter and 1300 thermal guns at the booths.
There will be 937 micro observers for these booths. Ballot boxes have been made available on district and tehsil level. After elections, ballot boxes will be deposited in the strongroom at Marathwada Realtors Pvt Ltd, opposite Kalagram in Chikalthana area by Tuesday midnight.
Voters can produce documents like Aadhar Card, driving license, PAN card, the ID of Central or State Governments or local self Government bodies or private industries, the ID of public representatives, the ID of teachers, degree of a university as identity proof.
There are 3.73 lakh voters, including 86,909 women. The district-wise number of voters is as follows; Aurangabad (1,63,079), Jalna (29,765), Parbhani (32,715), Hingoli (16,794), Nanded (49,285), Beed (63,436), Latur (41,190), Osmanabad (33,632).
