national level book festival to be inaugurated in Bamu today
Chhatrapati Sambhajijnagar: A four-day national book festival will begin at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on April 11 as part of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.
The festival will bring together book lovers, students, authors, and publishers. Social Justice and District Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat will inaugurate the festival at the University’s History Museum at 11 am, on Thursday.
The festival with the theme ‘Books Hub … Nurturing Reading’ reflects its aim to attract readers of all age groups. Stalls of 19 nationally renowned publishers will be set up to display a wide variety of books. For the first time in the university’s history, the KRC has taken the lead in organising such a national book fair guidance of Vice-Chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari. This festival aims to strengthen the culture of reading and effectively highlights Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s belief that education and knowledge are tools for empowerment.
Dr Vaishali Khaparde, Director of the KRC r, has appealed to students, parents, children, teachers, researchers, and all stakeholders to participate and enjoy the diverse collection of books.

The book festival will remain open for all from 10 am to 8 pm, between April 11 to 14. The festival will also have food court stalls by women’s self-help groups for the visitors.
