Non-recovery of stolen idols from Kannad disappoints Jain community

On February 8, at midnight, an unknown thief stole five Panchdhatu idols from the Digambar Jain Temple in Kannad city. It has been a month and a half since this incident, and yet the police have not been able to recover the stolen idols, leading to strong resentment within the Jain community.

The five stolen idols include three of Lord Parshwanath, one of Lord Munisuvratanath, and one of Lord Mahavir. The theft came to light on the morning of February 9. A complaint was filed on the same day, and an FIR was registered at the Kannad city police station against the unidentified thieves. It has been one and a half months since the incident, but there has been no progress in the investigation, raising questions about the police's efficiency.

The president of the Sakal Jain Samaj, Anand Kumar Pandey, and fellow community members have urged senior police officials to take serious notice of the matter and ensure that the stolen idols are recovered as soon as possible.
