Special vaccination drive for pregnant mothers soon

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said, " The AMC will soon start a special vaccination drive for the pregnant women in the city. Presently, there is no stock of vaccines with us. However, as soon as the fresh stock of vaccines is made available from the government, we will implement the drive for them. There are no ill-effects of vaccine, instead, it is beneficial only."

Adds the president of Aurangabad Obstetrics and Gynaecologist Society Dr Anuradha Shewale, " The vaccine is indeed beneficial for pregnant women. Earlier, there was no permission, but recently, the government had granted permission to vaccinate these expecting mothers as a safety measure. Hence, pregnant women should not harbour any fear and take the vaccine. It helps in building immunity."
