One killed, one injured in two-wheeler collision in Vaijapur

One person was killed on the spot and another sustained injuries after two speeding two-wheelers collided near Vinayakrao Patil College on the Vaijapur–Yeola road at around 8 am on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Nitesh alias Veeru Desai (48, Vaijapur). According to information received, Desai was on his way to the municipal swimming pool on the Yeola road for a morning swim. While taking a turn towards the pool, his two-wheeler collided head-on with another bike. Desai died on the spot in the accident. The injured rider has been identified as Dr Pratik Prabhakar Todkar (25), a resident of Borsar in Vaijapur tehsil. A case has been registered at the Vaijapur police station. Desai is survived by his wife, son, mother, brother and a married sister.
