Pandey orders completion of roads to be built from state government fund of Rs 100 cr, soon

Aurangabad, Oct 23:

The state government had sanctioned a fund of Rs 100 crore to Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), four years ago. The civic body spent the fund on developing roads, and the work is still lying incomplete.

The state government had issued the fund in 2016 to develop 30 important roads of the city, but due to red-tapism in AMC and disputes with the contractors, the road works were unable to be completed in four years.

The administrator A K Pandey today reviewed the situation and ordered the civic officials to overcome the petty reasons and problems due to which the works got halted. The city engineer S D Panzade and executive engineer Hemant Kolhe briefed him road wise details and underlined that the works are lying pending due to small and petty reasons. Hence Pandey ordered to overcome the petty issues and complete the works in 8-10 days.

Hemant Kolhe said, " There are problems like removal of encroachment, relocation of water pipelines, electricity poles and drainage pipelines on the roads. The work will be done with speed by overcoming these problems. Meanwhile, the administrator will soon be inspecting the road works."
