Aurangabad, Feb 15:

Gita Parivar, to nurture our

tradition, organized ‘Matru – Pitru Pujan’ (parents worship) on Valentine’s Day

on Sunday. A six years old girl sung an ‘Ovi’ and worshiped the parents in a

unique manner. The younger generation is imitating the western tradition, but

have forgotten to respect the elders. Children keep their old parents at Old

age homes. Hence, it is important to inculcate the Indian values in the children.

February 14 is celebrated as a day of love in the western culture. Parents are

the first love of the children. Hence, Geeta Parivar, Cidco president, Shobha

Malani and the team members appealed the children for the ‘Matru – Pitru Pujan’.

Accordingly, a six years old girl conducted the Pujan by singing an Ovi. Lessons

were imparted how to do Matru – Pitru Pujan through Shlok recitation, story of

Pundlik, and Song singing.
