Candidates arriving from across Maharashtra for the police constable physical test at the SRPF camp from February 11 reached as early as 3- 4 am, but inadequate transport and lack of accommodation caused hardship.

Though the municipal corporation operated buses from 4 am, services were limited. Many were forced to pay Rs 100 per person for autorickshaws from the railway station. Afternoon services were reduced to just two buses, and return trips began only after buses were fully packed, again pushing candidates towards private transport. With no lodging facilities, aspirants from Yavatmal, Buldhana and Nagpur spent the night behind tea stalls, in temples and even near a crematorium along the route, while relatives waited outside the centre for hours under minimal arrangements.
