Polytechnic aspirants asked to change SEBC category
Aurangabad, Nov 28:
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) urged the candidates who applied from Socially Educationally Backward Category (SEBC) to change their group in polytechnic admission forms.
It may be noted that the admission process for polytechnic started from August 8.
Maratha community students from different parts of the State applied for the various polytechnic courses to avail SEBC reservation for the academic year 2020-21. The Supreme Court gave a stay on the reservation on September 9.
Those students who have applied before September 9 can choose Economic Weaker Section (EWS) or open group. If they opt for EWS, they will have to submit its certificate at the time confirmation of the admission.
If a candidate fails to submit the EWS certificate, he/she will be treated as general category aspirants, lose the claim of the seat.
