Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Power supply was cut off in certain areas of Cidco between 9 AM and 2 PM on Wednesday for essential pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work, leaving residents of the area struggling with the heat during the afternoon hours.

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (Mahavitaran) carried out various maintenance and repair works on the power lines at Cidco N-7 and Baijipura substations on Wednesday.

Sagging wires were found and additional poles were installed to address the issue. In N-1, underground cables were found to be faulty at two locations, which were also repaired.

Branches of trees obstructing the 33 KV lines leading to both sub-stations were trimmed. Additionally, necessary works were carried out within both substations.

Although work was also carried out at the Baijipura substation, consumers connected to this substation were not affected, as an alternative power supply was available.
