Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Just two days ago, the municipal corporation conducted a crackdown against single-use plastic carry bags and seized a large stock.

Officials also warned that strict penalties would be imposed on those found using plastic carry bags in the future. However, during Sunday’s weekly markets, vendors selling fruits, vegetables and other goods, as well as customers, were seen freely using plastic bags. The use of plastic bags continues unchecked in weekly markets at Jaffer Gate, Beed Bypass and Mondha Chowk, where street vendors are openly distributing them.
