Resentment rises against municipal squad

Aurangabad, July 11:

There is a feeling of resentment among traders and citizens about the civic task force made up of ex-servicemen appointed by the municipal corporation. The squad members are accused of misbehaving with people. The corporation was also criticised for paying 30 per cent of the fine to these ex-servicemen. In the last few days, the task force members collected a fine of Rs 93,800 and 77 unmasked citizens were fined Rs 38,500. Traders were fined Rs 19,000 for excessive garbage on the streets, Rs 10,000 for keeping construction materials on the road and two traders were fined Rs 10,000 for violating corona rules. The action was taken on July 10 and 12.
