Round table discussion held to celebrate World Heritage Day
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Tourism Administration Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University organised a round table discussion on "Disaster and Conflict-Resilient Heritage" in the department on Thursday as part of the World Heritage Day celebration. In this event, Master of Travel and Tourism Management course students discussed the topics of heritage preservation, conservation, and sustainable tourism with special reference to the fire at Daulatabad Fort.
The discussion was held under the chairmanship of the Director of the Department Dr Rajesh Ragade, Dr Madhuri Sawant and Dr Tushar Tingote were also present. The students participated enthusiastically in the round table discussion on important issues. They emphasised the need for collective efforts to preserve rich cultural heritage and promote responsible tourism practices.
The programme focused on key issues such as conservation and protection measures and coordination with government agencies and NGOs. The importance of educating tourists on risk prevention measures and promoting research in the field of heritage conservation was also highlighted.
The university reaffirmed its commitment to preserving our cultural heritage for future generations.
