Sandal trees stolen from DC’s residence

Thieves cut and stole sandal trees from the district collector''s residence at Labour Colony on November 6 night and it was noticed next day morning. Moreover, the thieves dared despite the CCTV Cameras installed on the premises. District Collector Sunil Chavan’s residence is in front of Rangeen Gate at Subhedari Guest House Road. On November 6 night, the thieves entered the residence premises and stole the sandalwood by cutting it. The next day morning, the incident came to the fore. Begumpura police station PI, Sachin Sanap, and others rushed to the spot. Although there are CCTVs on the premises, it proved of no use. The thieves entered the residence despite strict police bandobast.

Earlier, a sandal tree was stolen from the bungalow of CP Sanjay Kumar in 2013. Similarly, on July 27, 2018, a similar incident was reported here when a sandal tree was cut from the residence during the tenure of district collector Uday Chaudhary.
