Sattar appeals to tourism associates to maintain safety measures at Ajanta Caves

Aurangabad, Dec 9:

The minister of state (MoS) for revenue Abdul Sattar today appealed to all the tourism associates to take adequate safety measures to ensure the safety of tourists while visiting the world heritage Ajanta Caves. The danger of Coronavirus is still existing. It has not ended, therefore, all of them, including the tourists, should adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), he said.

The MoS was addressing at a function organised at the Tourist Visitors Centre, to mark the entry to the Ajanta Caves, today. It may be noted that the heritage monuments in the district are re-opening for tourists, from December 10. This is indeed good news for the tourists as well as the tourism associates.

He said, " The world heritage site, Ajanta Caves, was closed for the past nine months. However, the state government led by the chief minister Uddhav Thackeray thought of the survival of the tourism service providers, associates of the industry and the tourists. Hence it decided to re-open the monuments on condition. The tourists will have to procure online tickets to gain entry at the caves. It will be practised till the situation attains normalcy." Meanwhile, all of them should religiously use facemasks, maintain physical distances and use sanitisers (or handwash) to ensure that the infection does not spread to others, he stressed.

Shiv Sena tehsil president Prabhakar Kale, tehsildar Pravin Pande, block development officer Sudarshan Tupe, MTDC''s Kshirsagar, ASI''s Shaikh Kalimoddin, Ajanta Guide Association''s Syed Abrar, Papinderpal Singh Wayati, Aaba Kale, Gopi Jadhav, Durga Pawar, Vithal Agale, Ramesh Kapse, Abdul Aziz, Mehboob Pathan, Imrah Shah, Radheshyam Jadhav and office-bearers of various other organisations were present on occasion.
