Satyagraha agitation by Congress to protest against anti-farm bills passed by union Government
Aurangabad, Oct 31:
To commemorate the anniversary of former prime minister Indira Gandhi and first home minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Congress took out ''Satyagraha agitation'', in front of the district collectorate today. They named the day as Kisan Adhikar Diwas.
The party has erected a mandap at the venue. Accordingly, the party leaders, activists and workers started to gather at the venue in the morning. Before starting of agitation, district president Kalyan Kale and MPCC vice president Prakash Mugadia offered tributes by garlanding the statues of Indira Gandhi and Vallabhai Patel. The agitation continued till 4 pm, and then the delegation submitted a memorandum.
The party took out satyagraha agitation all over the state to protest against the union government for approving anti-farm bills. Congress believes that it would force farmers to sustain financial losses. Meanwhile, the party has also launched a signature drive in the state till November 5. The members, leaders and activists heard the speeches of India Gandhi on occasion.
City president Hisham Osmani, Bhimrao Dongre, Kiran Patil Dongaonkar, Namdeo Pawar, Jaganath Kale, Babanrao Didhore, Bhausaheb Jagtap, Ramakant Gaikwad, Sheshrao Tupe, Jaiprakash Narnaware, Arun Shirsaat, Iqbalsingh Gill, Moin Harsulkar, Mrinalini Deshpande, Priyanka Kharat and many other office-bearers and activists participated in the agitation.
