Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A car lost control and rammed into an oncoming truck at Palod village on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalgaon road after a sudden diversion caused due to ongoing roadwork. Three persons were injured, including one in critical condition. The accident occurred at around 6 am on Saturday.

The seriously injured passenger has been identified as Ramnicha Jain (72), a resident of Mumbai. He was travelling from Mumbai to Bhusawal by car early in the morning when the driver failed to notice a mud diversion laid for road construction at Palod. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which collided head-on with a truck (RJ 14 GT 8650) coming from the opposite direction. The car then veered off the road and fell into a ditch. Besides Jain, driver Ravindra Jamsavkar (54) and Ankita Jain (45), both from Mumbai, sustained minor injuries. Sillod rural police inspector Ravindra Thakre and police personnel Anna Gavande, Dilip Gaygawan and Pratik Pure rushed the injured to the sub-district hospital in a police vehicle. After primary treatment, the injured were referred to hospitals in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for further treatment.
