Aurangabad, Dec 7: Head of the Sub-regional Office (SRO), Employees'' State Insurance Corporation, Aurangabad Chandra Bhanu Jha has appealed to the human resource and administration department officials to disseminate information about Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojna (ABVKY) to extend its benefit to the genuine beneficiaries. The HR professionals were urged to contact the employees who had to lose their jobs including migrated employees so that they can take the benefit of this scheme.

Jha was speaking during a webinar conducted by

Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) jointly with the ESIC SRO on ‘ABVKY, Special Benefits of ESIC, Social Security Scheme post-COVID-19’ today.

The webinar was organized with an intention to disseminate information to the employers and employees about the recent changes/relaxation in eligibility conditions along with enhanced benefits in respect of the lockdown period March 24 to December 31 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Jha informed the audience that in the 182nd meeting of ESIC held on August 20 vide notification September 7 it was decided to extend the ABVKY for a period of one year. He gave a presentation on the scheme informing on exempted eligibility conditions. He said that the claim of the insured is not required to be forwarded by the employer. The claim can be submitted directly to the branch office and verification of the claim from the employer will be made to the insured’s bank account within 15 days of the claim.

CMIA secretary general Razia Ahmed conducted the proceedings. The webinar was attended by 60 representatives from various industries.
