Aurangabad, July 1:
The state-level mega blood donation camp organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and the founder-editor of Lokmat Jawaharlalji Darda (Babuji) will be inaugurated by state health minister Rajesh Tope at Lokmat Bhavan, Jalna Road on July 2 at 10 am.
The large-scale blood scarcity was witnessed during the Covid-19 pandemic phase. Preserving the social commitment and to reduce blood scarcity, Lokmat has organised this mega blood donation camp. The organisers have appealed that people, considering their social responsibility, should participate in the camp and donate blood in large numbers.
The camp will be inaugurated in the presence of Lokmat’s editor-in-chief Rajendra Darda, district collector Sunil Chavan, commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta, AMC administrator Astik Kumar Pandey, zilla parishad CEO Dr Mangesh Gondawale, Government Medical College and Hospital dean Dr Kanan Yelikar and others.
The percentage of blood donation has reduced in the state. The accident victims and other needy patients need blood during an emergency while their relatives have to wander from place to place searching for the donors. Hence, mega blood donation camps have been organised across the state. All the blood banks and their employees are all prepared for this mega camp.
Various organisations to participate
Various organisations will participate in this mega blood donation camp, including Aurangabad Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh, MASSIA, ICAI, Aurangabad District Revenue Employees Association, Ambulance Help Raiders Group, MSEDCL officers - employees, Maharashtra Vij Tantrik Kamgar Sanghatana, MSRTC Kamgar Sena, Teachers Association, Namonkar SMS Service, Shri Khandelwal Digambar Jain Panchayat and others.
Entry from the back gate
The donor between the age group of 18 to 60 years, after 28 days of the recovery from the Covid-19 infection or after 14 days of the first or second Corona vaccines, can donate blood. The camp has been organised at Lokmat Bhavan on Friday, while the entry will be from the back gate.
