Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The problem of stray dogs in the city is no longer merely a nuisance; it is turning into a life-threatening crisis.

Although there was a brief sense of calm in some areas after Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) teams rounded up dogs a few days ago, once again, the sounds of barking in the dead of night and early morning hours, packs of dogs chasing vehicles, and dogs attacking at riders have left citizens terrified.

Two-wheeler riders and students going to schools and colleges are living in constant fear. Many riders, in a bid to escape dogs which suddenly chase their vehicles, speed up, resulting in a rise in skidding, minor accidents, and injuries. Citizens are angrily asking, "Do we save ourselves from the dogs or from accidents?"

Several parents say that certain areas have become 'danger zones' for students returning home late at night after studying. Many girls and senior citizens are choosing to take alternative routes to avoid packs of roaming dogs.

Fear has spread across Mukundwadi, Chikalthana, Shivajinagar, Garkheda, Hudco, Baijapura, Roshan Gate, Harsul, Cidco Bus Stand area and even Cannaught.

Citizens have demanded that the Municipal Corporation immediately catch aggressive dogs that constantly chase vehicles and keep them in shelter homes. "

In some parts of the city, late-night barking has become so intense that residents are losing sleep. One angry parent remarked that children walking on the road carry less schoolbag and more fear. A serious incident that recently occurred in Naregaon is still fresh in the minds of citizens and has not been forgotten.
