Aurangabad, June 24:

Thieves on motorcycle snatched 6 tolas gold chain of a woman returning home with her friends after paying obeisance to the Wad tree at Cidco Waluj Mahanagar on Thursday morning. The thieves after the incident fled away from the scene but were captured in the CCTV camera.

According to the details, Nilima Madhukar Pokharkar (Nandan Kanan Society, Cidco Waluj Mahanagar) had gone to pay obeisance to Wad tree in Ganeshnagar area with her friends on Thursday at around 11 am. While returning home, two motorcyclists came near her and snatched gold chain weighing 6 tolas from her neck. The women shouted for help but they fled away from the scene.

Meanwhile, ACP Vivek Saraf, PI Madhukar Sawant, PSI Sachin Pagote and crime branch team went to the spot on receiveing the invormation. The women told police that the rider was wearing a white shirt while the pillion rider was blue shirt and jeans. Both had covered their faces with handkerchiefs and were captured in a CCTV camera in this area. A case has been registered at the Waluj MIDC police station.
