Thousands of devotees immerse themselves at the feet of Gajanan Maharaj

At the CADA office ground, thousands of devotees stood in queues at the same time under a grand pavilion. Immersed in chanting the holy name and maintaining strict discipline, devotees were filled with joy the moment they had darshan of the white, pristine marble idol of Gajanan Maharaj inside the temple. Bowing at the saint’s feet, spontaneous chants of “Anant Koti, Brahmand Nayak, Maharajadhiraj, Bhaktapratipalak, Shegaon Nivasi, Samarth Sadguru Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Ki Jai” echoed through the premises. Devotees experienced the same spiritual fervour at the temple in Harsul, just as at the Garkheda road temple.

On the occasion of prakat din, the doors of the Garkheda road temple were opened at 3.30 am. At 4 am, the Abhishek was performed at the hands of trustee board president prof. Pravin Wakte. The aarti was performed by MLA Atul Save, mayoral candidate Sameer Rajurkar, deputy mayoral candidate Rajendra Janjal, former corporator Nandkumar Ghodele and BJP city president Kishor Shitole. The sanctum was decorated with flowers in Bengali style. As many as 550 volunteers rendered service to devotees. Over 80,000 devotees peacefully took darshan throughout the day while maintaining discipline. The Maha aarti was held in the evening, and devotees continued to visit the temple until midnight.

There was a heavy rush for darshan from early morning at the Gajanan Maharaj temple in Harsul too. President Pramod Tehre, Pooja Tehre, along with Ravindra Walnikar, Vaishali Walnikar, Sanjay Wani and Ravi Tehre performed the Abhishek and Homa-Havan of the idol. Founder president Bhaskarrao Tehre informed that this year marked the 16th year of the prakat din celebrations at the temple. Corporator Rishikesh Jaiswal was felicitated. Thousands of devotees availed of the Mahaprasad.
