A 16-year-old student died on the spot after a truck hit a motorcycle near Chitepimpalgaon on the Dhule–Solapur National Highway on Saturday around 11 am.

The deceased has been identified as Pratiksha Dhage. According to information, Ganesh Dhage was taking his daughter Pratiksha on a motorcycle to a coaching class in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar when a truck coming from Beed (RJ-32-GD-7439) rammed into their vehicle. In the impact, Ganesh Dhage was thrown aside, while Pratiksha came under the truck wheel and died on the spot. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Chikalthana police have seized the truck. Pratiksha, a Class 11 student, had completed her schooling at Swaraj Vidyalaya in Khodegaon. She was also active in sports and had won first place at the state level in kabaddi and kho-kho competitions, bringing recognition to her village. Further investigation is being conducted by Chikalthana police.
