Aurangabad, July 12:

“There are now conditions on reservation benefits being given to VJNT community members under the OBC category. One of the conditions is about a creamy layer. Promotions were stopped because of the conditions. We will take up the matter with Chief Minister and Backward Class Commission about the survey of VJNT with OBC,” said MLA Sanjay Rathod.

He is on a two-day tour of the district to meet members of the different communities.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday evening, Sanjay Rathod said that the VJNT community is still ignored and their financial condition is very bad.

“There are restrictions on Panchayat Raj elections after OBC reservation was cancelled. All know what is happening on the empirical data of OBC. I met activists of the community members during my tour of the State,” he said.

Rathod said that he would give a memorandum to Chief Minister and Commission for Backward Class. There are 42 castes in VJNT, while 12 castes, including Banjara, are in A- group, 28 castes in B-group.

On the point of enquiry against him, Rathod aid that he would accept whatever comes to light after the probe. He said that the Chief Minister would take the decision about his resignation only after the probe completion.
