Aurangabad, April 15:

In the backdrop of the announcement of the lockdown, the Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray announced to distribute two kgs rice and three kgs wheat free to around seven crores people. The administration is now waiting for the written orders from the government to distribute the grains.

Moreover, there still not any clarity of the beneficiaries for the free grains. The government has not made it clear where the grains should be distributed to all the ration card holders or only to the people below poverty line (BPL).

The official sources said that the government has announced to distribute food grains to the people free. However, the written orders have not been received yet and hence the distribution has not started.

The chief minister has also announced to distribute free Shiv Bhojan Thali to the people. But, the orders regarding this have also not received yet. The lockdown was announced from Wednesday night, but there was no planning for it, it is observed. If such delay is continued, the schemes are likely to remain on the papers only.
