Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A woman was allegedly harassed and forced to leave her home after giving birth to a third daughter. Her in-laws refused to let her stay, and when summoned by the police for an inquiry, they failed to appear. Now, City Chowk police have registered a case against her husband, Dinesh Nade, and his family.

The 25-year-old woman from Fazalpura, who married Dinesh in 2017, faced taunts and humiliation after the birth of her first daughter in 2019. When she had a second daughter in 2021, the harassment intensified. After her third daughter’s birth, her in-laws allegedly demanded separation, accusing her of failing to produce a male heir.

Seeking justice, the woman approached the Women’s Grievance Redressal Center in Sillekhana. Officials attempted mediation and summoned her husband and in-laws, but they ignored the inquiry. With no response from the accused, the police registered a case, and PSI Nivrutti Gayke is investigating the matter.
