Aurangabad, June 2:

Construction of 2 vaccine storage units with a capacity of 20 cubic meters each in the cantonment area started in January. But the work was delayed due to lack of machinery. But after 5 months, the necessary machinery has arrived. Hence the work of the store will gain momentum.

The city currently has a walk-in freezer and a walk-in cooler at health and family welfare training center, Cidco that have a capacity of 12 cubic meters each. The deputy director of health office also has cold storage. Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani and Hingoli district comes under the jurisdiction of Aurangabad deputy director of health. It is also planned to supply vaccines from Aurangabad to four districts including Latur, Osmanabad, Nanded and Beed. With this in view, 2 vaccine storage units (stores) with a capacity of 20 cubic meters each are being set up in the cantonment area. Necessary construction and painting was completed. However, the facility lacked machinery. The required equipment has finally been received from Delhi. The work of the store in the cantonment area will be completed in the next 15 days, said deputy director of health Dr Swapnil Lale.
