Youth dies, four injured in accident

Aurangabad, Dec 12:

A youth died, and four injured as an unidentified vehicle dashed a car near Wadigodri on Solapur – Dhule Highway on Saturday at around 6.45 am. The accident was so severe that the vehicle dragged the car for approximately 200 feet and finally, the car dashed on the road''s divider. In this accident, Shiv Purushottam Agrawal (17, Priyadarshini Colony, N-5, Cidco) died on the spot while the injured are being treated.

According to Shiv''s details, with his college friends had gone to meet his friend at Gevrai in Beed district in car (MH20 CU 9786) on Saturday morning. He was returning to Aurangabad after meeting his friend when a speedy vehicle coming from the direction of Beed towards Aurangabad dashed the car from behind near Wadigodri bridge. Shiv was sitting on the car''s back seat and was pressed inside due to which he died on the spot. The other passengers Kalim Khan Shabbir Khan (16), Shritish Manish Rankhand (16), Om Agrawal (160 and driver Shaikh Manjoor Shaikh Bashir (52, all residents of Aurangabad) were injured.

The Pachod police on receiving the information rushed to the spot and rushed all the passengers to the Pachod rural hospital. The doctors after examination declared Shiv dead while the injured were send to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment. The body of Shiv was given to the relatives after postmortem. API, Atul Yerme and Jamadar Sudhakarrao Mohite are further investigating the case.

Shiv was a studious student in the college and used to participate in various competitions. He received many awards since schooling. He was aspiring to become a CA. Shiv, his twin brother Om and cousin Anant were of the same age and completed their education in the same school. After completing the tenth class, all three brothers were aspiring to become CA. They took admission at Deogiri College and used to go together to the coaching classes. Today, Om and Shiv, along with other friends went to Gevrai, and met with an accident while returning. Shiv is survived by parents, brother Om, cousin Anant, sister Payal, Chaitali, uncle, aunt and grandparents. Last rites were performed on him at the crematorium near N-6 Jakat Naka.
